Huntsville Campout

Orienteering and Ninja Training

Navigators completed an Orienteering course and were joined by some of our Woodlands Trailmen for Ninja Training!

We camped at Monte Sano State Park on Monte Sano Mountain.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Trailmen lowered the flag to half-staff and dads talked about how the events of that day have affected all of us. We sang "God Bless America" together.

Who wants Eggs Erroneous, the Kamp Kikakee Speciality Du Jour?!

We went to Ninja Obstacle Academy for some America Ninja Warrior training! Navigator Ben is a pro and talked about his favorite obstacles and the feeling of doing something he once thought impossible!

Trailmen went on a 2-mile orienteering course using maps and compasses to find controls. At the end was a prize - a stash of laser tag guns for future troop outings!

Following a devotion at a scenic overlook about the Spirituality of Trail Life, Trailmen enjoyed some time on the playground. Dads David and Charley enjoyed the Lunar Lander set that Outdoor Activity Chair Brad played on as a kid some 35 years ago!
