How involved are parents?

Parents participate alongside their sons.

Trail Life is designed and functions best as a father-son ministry. If there isn't a father figure in your home, our church-approved leaders are fantastic guides for helping your son grow into a Christian man.

Parents are expected to stay with their sons during meetings and on campouts, especially during the boys' elementary years. As boys grow older, they are given increasing opportunities for independence, responsibility, and leadership.

Many dads choose to become Registered Adults, completing a criminal background check, child safety and youth protection training, character references, and approval by both Trail Life USA and our church. These Registered Adults help deliver the program and are a key part of our safety policies.
